Every facilitator at Mandala is independently licensed by the Oregon Health Authority and brings with them dynamic life experience that is enriched by years of dedication to their own healing work.

Katie Markley MA, LPC, LAC

Owner, Lead Facilitator

Katie has a warm and steady presence that enables her clients to navigate deep terrain. As a licensed facilitator and transpersonal therapist with over 11 years of experience working with adults in private practice she feels honored and humbled to be part of your journey.

She is trained in somatic trauma work and art therapy from Naropa University. Passionate about altered states medicine work, Katie has witnessed their capacity to facilitate deep healing. She draws experience from her work as a Ketamine Assisted Therapist and member of the Native American Church. She is trained by MAPS in the MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and served as the Director of Psilocybin Retreats for IPI's Eugene-based training center.

As a trauma specialist, Katie utilizes tools like EMDR, neuroscience and somatic psychotherapy as practical techniques for supporting wholeness in others through nervous system integration and trauma healing.

Melanie King Kawashima Vélez DNP, PMHNP, RN

Level 3 Facilitator

Melanie (she/her) is a grounded, heart-led co-traveler who has accompanied over a hundred individual, couples, and group journeys through hurt, joy, “not good enough”, forgiveness, play, anger, despair, fears of death & life, wholeness, race and cultural wounds, trauma, shadow and into the beyond.

Her work as a nurse since 2012, past work as a home caregiver for the dying, and university music training as a vocalist and instrumentalist expanded her view of the Essential Medicines: Caring, Community, and Connection to the Higher.

Melanie identifies as Japanese American. She trained at CIIS CPTR, MAPS, Polaris KAP, Temenos KAP, and Subtle Winds, where she also teaches. Outside Mandala, Melanie is a BIPOC circle community leader and a psychiatric prescriber and therapist with ketamine, and for local programs for sex offenders, perinatal psychiatry, and addiction medicine. She loves being in the water, with friends, family, cooking, poetry, music, and doing her own self-work as a psychonaut.

Nitai Aleksiewicz MA, PAT

Level 2 Facilitator

Nitai believes every person holds the innate wisdom needed to heal themselves. Her purpose is to help you attune to your own medicine by designing a personal journey map tailored to your unique history incorporating the specific ways you heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

She has worked with over a hundred clients facilitating group and individual psilocybin journeys including the significant honor of facilitating an End of Life journey. Her experience as a caregiver for terminal cancer patients, crisis counseling at a Rape Crisis Center, and facilitating groups at an Outpatient Drug Rehab, allow her to compassionately witness and hold grounded space for high levels of grief and trauma release.

As a founding lead facilitator for two psychedelic retreat companies and with decades of personal development work in holistic studies, she has seen nothing more powerful than safely guided psychedelic journeys to heal core wounds.

Drawing from somatic practices, yoga, guided meditation and shadow work, Nitai will co-create an ongoing, personalized integration plan to reinforce new neural pathways that help you to see, hear, and heal those parts of Self that have been silenced and shamed.

Juba Askins

Level 2 Facilitator

Juba is a compassionate facilitator with over twenty years of experience in the psychedelic community. His intercultural, multi-lingual, and multi-racial identity, coupled with ancestral connections to healers from Brazil shapes his belief in the power of upholding integrity, kindness, and truth in his heart to provide a safe and supportive space for transformative experiences.

As a composer, singer, and instrumentalist, Juba can infuse live music into your session to enhance your experience. In addition, he strives to maintain the right relationship with his clients by embracing self-reflection, fostering inclusivity, and embracing nonviolent communication.

Having lived and worked with people from diverse economic and minority backgrounds, Juba deeply empathizes and understands the importance of integrating body, mind, and spirit in balance. Witnessing the struggles of people from all walks of life, including veterans, those ensnared in cartels, those affected by drug addiction or social discrimination has strengthened his commitment to offer support and guidance, knowing it promotes healing and contributes to a more compassionate world.

Amy Koehlinger PhD

Level 2 Facilitator

Amy's goal as a facilitator is to provide a warm, nurturing space for psilocybin journeys of healing and growth. She will partner with you to navigate expanded consciousness, address past hurts, explore your inner world, and imagine a future that is more peaceful and fulfilled. Amy has seen first hand, in her own life and as a facilitator, how psilocybin can alleviate anxiety and depression and connect people more deeply to the natural world and other sources of joy and meaning.

Her professional training in the academic study of religion (PhD from Yale and 20+ years in higher education) helps her to engage with elements of psychedelic experience that people describe as spiritual or mystical without imposing my views or interpretations on them, helping clients integrate new insights into their existing belief system.

Her previous work in HIV/AIDS reflects her commitment to social justice, LGBTQ equity, and compassionate and empowered approaches to end-of-life, including the therapeutic use of psilocybin as part of hospice and palliative care.

Davida Moore MA

Level 2 Facilitator

Davida has a deep reverence for psychedelic work and the human experience. With over 9 years of experience in the psychedelic space, Davida creates personalized, safe environments for her clients. She brings warmth, support and non-judgmental presence into her sessions and honors the mind-body connection. She believes in the astounding healing power of the human mind and its ability to adapt and grow through neurogenesis and neuroplasticity.

Davida's multi-racial identity and international travels have strengthened her ability to understand the totality of her clients. She bridges her clinical and personal experience to help clients work through trauma, increase personal empowerment, and experience personal growth. She is a ceremonialist, graduate of the Entheogenic Medical Training Program at the Synaptic Institute, an initiate of the Academy of Oracle Arts and scholar of the sacred sciences of the ancients. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in biology with a minor in neuroscience and Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Davida is also a psychotherapist specializing in trauma resolution. Utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Holographic Memory Resolution (HMR).

Seishiro "SEiSH" Hokazono

Level 1 Facilitator

SEiSH [say-shi] brings a grounding presence and enthusiastic heart to create a safe environment that promotes optimism. With roots in Japan and education spanning Montana and New Mexico, along with living experiences in Puerto Rico, Spain, and Guam, he appreciates diverse cultures and fluently speaks Japanese, English, and Spanish. Since 2008, He has been an acupuncturist at Good Samaritan Health Services in Albany, OR, specializing in integrative medicine.

He values collaboration, recognizing everyone's unique perspective. His work with various healthcare professionals has instilled a deep respect for different healing disciplines. SEiSH believes in leading by example, experimenting with different approaches before recommending them to clients.

Drawing from Japanese, Oaxacan, Chinese, and Shinto/Buddhist traditions, he creates a safe and sacred space for clients during their psilocybin experiences. SEiSH thrives in both individual and group settings, believing the latter can provide a uniquely rich experience for participants.

Mollie Dean

Service Worker

Mollie has fifteen years of experience in individual and group facilitation. With a background in outdoor education, mental health care and crisis intervention, she has a passion for helping others navigate challenging experiences while building relationships with their authentic selves and their environment.

Mollie has a deep understanding of complex trauma, nervous system dysregulation disorders and the challenges associated with integrating long-lasting change. Her own personal healing journey has hinged on the use of plant medicine; helping to remove blocks, allow energy and insights to flow more freely, and strengthen the mind-body connection.

As a Service Worker, she hopes to support those facing issues with anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, PTSD, neurodivergence, or simply surviving under oppressive systems, as they work to break patterns, heal wounds, and move into alignment with their highest self.

Nathaniel Wendt

Owner, Service Worker

Nathaniel is a light-hearted and empathetic service worker whose first psychedelic ceremony with his family gave way to a profound calling to live a more purposeful life in service to his community.

His background as a Consultant and Quality Assurance Engineer helped him to become a skilled communicator and creative problem solver. His dedication to user experience and advocacy now extends to his role at Mandala where he ensures each client is heard, respected, and offered personalized care throughout their journey.

Nathaniel's commitment to fostering meaningful connections stems not just from his professional background but also from his role as a husband and father of three, where empathy, patience, and understanding are (usually) at the core of his interactions.

Through his diverse experiences as an Engineer, father, and psychedelic explorer, Nathaniel works to embody a balanced life—one that values creativity and playfulness as much as connection and personal growth.
